Planning a Birthday Party, celebrating an Anniversary, Bar/Bat Mitzvah, Christening, Civil Union, Family Reunion, Girls’ Weekend, Retirement, Wedding, or other special event? You’ve found the perfect place to host a celebration for up to 50 people maximum (accommodations for up to 43). Many of our guests have celebrated intimate, special occasions at our lovely home. Imagine entering the spacious foyer with spectacular antique cabinets filled with dazzling glassware, the marvelous scale atop the gleaming sideboard, the beautiful chandelier, and the century-old, curved oak staircase. The gorgeous mahogany wet bar with a mini-frig is ideal for mixing your favorite cocktails. Enjoy the look and feel of a real fire from our electric fireplace surrounded by a magnificent, antique oak fireplace mantle. Enjoy ocean views as you relax in our elegant antique-furnished formal living room with beautifully recovered furniture and stunning, solid oak pocket doors. Watch the “big game” on a 32 inch flat screen hdtv in our cozy family room with leather sofas. The “crème de la crème” is our hand crafted kitchen table that seats 12 to 14. The farmhouse table was made by my father, Rudi Schreiner. Our family has many wonderful memories at this table and over the years, hundreds of guests have made their own memories here.
Our 7 bedroom Main House sleeps 20; the first floor living area can comfortably host 30 guests (40 with the deck); the hand-made kitchen table seats 12 to 14, the bar area has seating for up to 7, the living room seats 9, and the family room seats 6. The formal living room, bar area and family room are all connected – like a huge living space with three semi-separate rooms. Weather permitting, our wrap-around deck has seating for ten. If you need more space, we have two adjacent units available with full kitchens and sleeping for 20 in 7 additional bedrooms. Our lovely courtyard, reminiscent of a French Café, is seasonally available. With seating for 43 (the total maximum number of guests we can comfortably sleep at the property - NOT 43 additional guests), our fully enclosed courtyard has lovely, freshly painted wrought iron furniture, dozens of gorgeous flowers, hundreds of tiny white lights, a small garden and a fountain. We recommend a maximum a 43 guests on the property at any given time because we do not have the capacity for more people indoors. No more than 50 guests are permitted on the property at any time.
We can suggest caterers, florists, and a fabulous bakery if desired. We can also provide decorating services (your decorations or ours). If you are hosting a surprise party, we can have the house ready for your arrival. Some guests plan a long weekend, take the birthday guy/gal out for a few hours the day after arrival, and we decorate, heat up and set out the food so the “SURPRISE PARTY” can begin when you return.
We are conveniently located one block to the beach and boardwalk, Wonderland Pier (the first of two amusement parks on our 2.5 mile boardwalk) is located at 6th and boardwalk - a 5 minute walk. Several restaurants within walking distance, including Piccini’s, Scully’s, The Chatterbox, Katina’s, Primo Hoagies, Sack-o-Subs, and Express, as well as some of the shops on the boardwalk, including Mack and Manco’s Pizza, Shriver’s Salt Water Taffy, Fudge Kitchen, Mia’s Christmas Shop, Henry’s Jewelry, and Terry Ivory Jewelry are open year-round. Diagonally across the street from us are the tennis courts (6 turf, 6 clay) to the right and the football field to the left. Just left of the football field are the shuffleboard courts, a skate park, and beach volleyball. There are several restaurants within a 5 minute walk, dozens if you are willing to walk 10 minutes. We have several mini golf courses, tons of ice cream places, several day spas, a grocery store, drug store, and more, all within a few blocks. At 6th and Asbury (one block south and 5 blocks west) begins "Downtown Ocean City" with hundreds of shops and restaurants of every type; all open year-round. If you walk to the bay (10 minutes) you will find lots of restaurants (most open only May through September) and all kinds of water sports. Our road is generally not very busy because the entire area between 5th and 6th streets is "house-free". From the beach to the bay, in order, you have the beach, boardwalk, a parking lot, skate park, shuffleboard, track and field, high school, Atlantic Avenue, the tennis courts, Ocean Avenue, Veteran's Park (an absolutely beautiful park encompassing the full block) Wesley Avenue, the OC Tabernacle (a phenomenal Christian church and their beautiful grounds encompassing two full blocks)), Asbury Avenue, the fire station, West Avenue, a baseball field, Bay Avenue and the bay.
