There are many reasons to plan or participate in a corporate retreat at The Victoria Inn, but the most common objective is team building. Whether you're bringing a specific department, a group of executives or top sales performers, a corporate retreat is a great way to promote relationship building and reward teamwork. Planned group activities provide many benefits including improved communication, increased productivity, better relationships, and enhanced skills.
Day time activities can range from one to eight hours and include bike rides on the boardwalk, beach picnics, treasure hunts, or sporting activities - beach volleyball, tennis, or “Beach Olympics”. Beach Olympics are events that require no specific athletic ability – just a willingness to have fun! Events include beach volleyball, hula hoops, super-soakers, team Tug of War, tennis balls, Frisbees, buckets and shovels, egg tosses, and blindfolded relay, potato sack or three-legged races. You might consider a sand castle contest, hermit crab race, or kite-flying competition. Bring your wetsuits and take surfing lessons, rent jet skis on the bay, or take a whale and dolphin watching cruise for an afternoon of fun. Scavenger Hunts are great team building activities. Not only enjoyable, these activities help employees learn time management, delegation, and organizational skills while simply getting to know each other better.
Evening activities can include star-gazing or themed cocktail parties such as Fiestas, Casino Nights, Decade Parties (60’s, 70’s, 80’s), Gangsters, Halloween, Hollywood, Mardi Gras or New Year’s. Murder Mystery Parties are a favorite, especially since it is rumored that the Inn may be haunted! A post Olympic/Treasure Hunt awards banquet can be an opportunity to hand out best performance awards and mix in mock awards such as most likely to grow banana trees in their office.
The Victoria Inn is a terrific place to host a business or corporate event on a budget. If indoor meeting space for the entire group in one location is desired, we recommend a maximum of 10 to 12 guests. If a large meeting space is not required, we can very comfortably accommodate up to 26 for the daily activities described above, cocktail parties and overnight stays. Seasonally available, our lovely courtyard, reminiscent of a French Café, provides seating for 40 with dozens of gorgeous flowers, hundreds of tiny white lights, a small garden and a fountain.
